The hike is too good, challenging and nice scenic view at the top of the mountain. The way to the parking lot from right of chambers road is around 0.5 mile and its a gravel road, which may harm the vehicle tires. Apart from that,...More

I am local to the area, 56 and 20-25 lbs overweight. I do exercise 2-3 times/week and have now walked to the top of of Yonah Mountain several times over the past 3 years. It is a moderately difficult hike, and you need to be...More

If you go, please stay on the marked trails. Short cuts create erosion. You can choose to hike halfway up to the big rock, or all the way up to the top. A local treasure!

It was interesting to read numerous sites about this hike before we went. Some said it was strenuous. Others said it was easy. I guess reviewing anything is very subjective. My husband and I enjoy day hiking and feel like we are fairly fit. This...More

One of our favorite activities on our stay in Helen. Will break a good sweat on a hot day, I recommend 30-60oz of water and some trail snacks. There are shortcut trails to reduce the mileage but they are very aggressive, I recommend staying on...More

This is a pretty straightforward Georgia mountain hike. Start from the parking lot, follow the trail, and you'll get to the summit in a couple of hours. The view is okay, but like most mountains in the state, there is a lot of tree cover,...More

This was a really nice hike, with lots of pretty views. We are not expert hikers, and it was a bit hard, but it was a great workout!

Excellent hike! Definitely a work out. Lots of beautiful views. Trail is really clear. I saw many people along the way. Lots of people with dogs. Bring plenty of water. Leaves can be slippery on way down. Easy to access. Restroom at trail head and...More

We came over from Blue Ridge to visit Helen and decided to hike the mountain. Was up for a challenge based on reviews. The person who said “ok view” must not have had their contacts in. Granted if you live out west and mountains are...More

After being inactive for a number of years, I've recently taken up hammock camping again. Last Thursday, I took off early from work and headed to the mountains. I carried food, water, and camping equipment for cold (39 degrees) and wet weather. Total back pack...More

Yes buts it's very steep and narrow and some parts are really scary and are at the edge of the mountain. And it's 3 miles up and 3 miles down.
