Enjoyed our visit to Jekyl Island and took a ride around the island and enjoyed coming upon the Horton House Ruins and reading about the history. Enjoy the beauty of the island with the nature and Spanish moss covered trees. A beautiful, relaxing vacation spot.

All that remains of Horton House is the Tabby Shell. Worth a quick stop for a few photos. There is also a placard with the history of Horton House.

Nice place for a quick side-visit. Good photos to be had here. Some historical info posted at the house site, and a graveyard across the street. Easy pull-in parking off the main street.

Small but still a piece of history which is ready for the kids. It takes a few minutes! Cross the street to the cemetery and more Sights. The equestrian ride is close too.

Makes you wonder how we need huge houses today and how people lived, slept, cooked, entertained in such smaller houses 200 years ago. So interesting.

Stopped to see this site as well the cemetery across from it. If you have time do the walk along the nature trail also to get a good feel of time.
