What a lovely museum run by committed volunteers . Hubby was impressed on seeing a Catalina airplane , seeing the historical photos, equipment ,letters etc held in the museum. What a history to be remembered by the locals and visitors , and how important lake boga was during ww2.

Worth a visit to see the Catalina in it's restored state.....very nicely on display in the museum shed. We started with a twenty minute movie about Lake Boga's roll in the war and the Catalinas. Around the museum is a lot of memorabilia and items which takes some time to read and look at. The bunker is another part of... More

My parents and I visited this museum and the gentleman there was so enthusiastic about everything, it was so informative. I went for a walk down in the bunker which was interesting, then we watched a 20 minute movie on the history of Lake Boga and it contribution to WW2. Well worth the watch.

We started off by watching a video which not only had us teary but so thankful these brave people protected our country. Then spent couple of hours taking everything in. The Lions Club have done an amazing job protecting this history and is a credit to them. The bunker is the original one we saw being made in the video... More

I found this place fascinating. A little pricey to get in at $30 per person but they have a family deal. It was fascinating to see a real Catalina up close and learn its history and how Lake Boga, a little town in the middle of nowhere played such and integral part in that. Plenty of parking and easy to... More

Interesting trip into the history of the area learning about the importance of flying boats to the security of the country during the war and how this remote area was chosen as the maintainance centre.

See one of the Catalina flying boats that made Lake Boga such an important location during WW2. Interesting video of the story of the Lake Boga base. The museum is very modern and well laid out with many displays and information boards. Static displays of other flying boats. Well worth spending an hour or so to visit. Nice little cafe... More

Spend a enjoyable few hours here. I came here 6 years back and the Catalina flying boat was not finished it's final restoration. Now everything is completed and she looks magnificent. There are many other interesting items to view. Also onsite the folks have restored the control and communication bunker. I was interested in the whole complex as my uncle... More
