Nice tour with a personal touch. Good look at how the middle class lived "back in the day." Offers a package to go with Heritage Hall.

Both of these adjacent houses provide an interesting slice of Madison's history. Rogers House is the oldest remaining house in town and is still on the original lot. Rose Cottage is named after "Miss Rose", an African-American lady born into slavery who bought the lot,...More

We purchased a combo ticket with the Heritage Hall tour. It was interesting to see how the middle class lived. More surprising was the Rose Cottage. It was amazing that a woman of color was able to save enough money to build a home back...More

Loved seeing these 2 homes and hearing the history - especially of the Rose Cottage. The decor and furnishings of these "middle-class " homes are lovely. Our guide was very informative and answered our questions easily. Don't miss these homes when visiting Madison!

Really enjoyed seeing these more modest historical homes. My docent was lovely, very knowledgable and interesting. It is fascinating to see how people lived in the 1800's.

These two buildings are very close to the welcome center and an easy visit. Our guide gave us a great historical background and was able to answer our questions with ease. For any history buffs; you have to go here

This home is another very well kept early home in Madison. It sits right next to the courthouse in downtown. It is not to be missed, great surviving architectural detail.

Of the two, the history behind the woman who built Rose Cottage was most fascinating. She was definitely a woman before her time. Both houses have been lovingly restored and tell the story of the area and the people who lived there.

Yes I think the below is correct...about $15 for all three which is extremely reasonable! Think the hours of operations were about 10 - 5.
