There are few places in the United States that have retained their link to the past as Coweta County and Newnan, Georgia have. From the settlement of the town in 1828 to the new millennium, Newnan has kept the heart of Coweta beating with a firm grasp on its rich and colorful history, while looking forward and embracing the future.

Downtown Newnan is pretty big when compared to other downtowns in the area. It's always seems like lots of locals frequent the local stores which is is great. They have some unique little shops that are local owned. It's so nice walking into these stores and being welcomed by the owner. Downtown Newnan is also located near some beautiful historic... More

The visitor center has tons of good information and resources. The courtroom and grand jury room are interesting. There a a few interesting shops downtown, and several good restaurants, breweries, and bars.

The Square was ringed with booths of food and crafts. There were many duplications of crafts. More variety and uniqueness would have made it more interesting and fun.

I love the town of Newnan. If I could, I'd live there! Get to know the locals, they have great stories of history! Visit Guns and Ammo and see "The man" or look across the street at Giselles beauty shop and still see the old hair Driers that set down on your head, and people coming out looking like the... More

This historic"City of Homes" is a beautiful city with preserved antebellum homes and a historic old town square with quaint shops and restaurants for you to while away the day.

Definately gives a feeling of being in a small old fashioned town. Made for a very nice walk. People were very friendly. Stopped at a little coffee house. It was comfortable and welcoming...but not the best coffee by far. A few of the stores were going out of business, which is a shame as it would be nice just to... More

Cute downtown area with lots of shops. Nostalgic parking on the courthouse square. Highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area.

Newnan, GA is a town that reminds us what small towns use to be post WWII before a period when areas like this were invaded with Starbucks and multi purpose retail/ living complexes. What you see in Newnan is what you get. The old town area is anchored by an old courthouse and independent shops and restaurants. People are friendly.... More

Newnan continues to upgrade its historic district while keeping the quaint look of what it has always been. It is a thriving district with a large variety of small shops that are always fun to take time and look through. There are several restaurants in downtown too, giving the patron a large choice when it comes to eating. Seasonally, there... More

We've been a few times and it's pretty much the same vendors in the same spots every time. Lots of craft type items up for grabs. Parking can be tricky. There's usually a band of some sort playing. The popcorn always smells amazing and we finally tried the little donuts that the one lady makes. Those alone are worth the... More
