Didn't realize this was here until we saw the signs on the Interstate from the Savannah Airport. Very well laid out, with interesting exhibits. The centerpiece is a real B-17 bomber from WWII, the "Miss Savannah," which was apparently the 5,000th B-17 built during the war. It is being restored, although it looks pretty good. A number of individual exhibits... More

My father was in the 8th during WWII so I really enjoyed this. The set up was great and they take you from pilots meeting to bombing run. The B-17 inside was awesome. Very informative and entertaining

very (emotionally) moving exhibits. we know that without the americans and president roosevelt in particular the outcome of ww2 could have been very different. the mighty 8th was largely based in east anglia and the heroic sacrifices of the american 8th air force bombing by day and the royal air force by night was definitive in changing the balance of... Museum is incredible! Photos, audio, video, interactive exhibits, artifacts, and volunteers who are knowledgeable. Unbelievably comprehensive. Plan on spending at least 3 hours here. You don't want to miss anything to get a complete picture of the 88th's contribution to WWII and after. Great for history buffs, vets, school groups. In fact, a very well behaved school group was taking... More

I had been here years ago and I wanted to go again. As a history buff I truly enjoyed it. The b17 is amazing and there are great displays of the war years. They have several vintage planes. The restaurant was decent but a little pricey but the staff was very helpful.

We have passed this museum countless times in driving to Jacksonville, FL to visit family and always thought it would be good to stop for a visit. We are so glad we found time! The museum is so well organized to tell the heroic story of Eighth United States Army Air Force in WWII. Displays of actual aircraft like the... More

So great to see the history behind this amazing force. So proud to have one been assigned under their command. The displays are top notch and plentiful. Lots of interaction. The video presentations are very well done as well.

This was a very enjoyable and informative visit. We are a retired military family, our daughter retired from the AF, one son is in the AF and both our parents served in WWII and retired from the service, so this was a particularly meaningful visit for us. The displays are very well laid out and set up to give one... More
