Since my first review in the Spring of 2016, my family and I have returned to Cloudland Canyon State Park. We stayed in the same Yurt, which was Yurt #3, as the location is just perfect! Yurts 2-6 have less privacy, but are circled around...More

Our family visited this state park last month. We visited on a Tuesday -- the park was not too crowed, but there was a steady stream of people hiking down to the waterfalls. We only had enough time (and energy!) to hike down one path,...More

Drove here from Chattanooga, Tn in about half hour. Views were stunning and the hiking was amazing! Stairs and clear paths made hiking to waterfalls, gorgeous streams, and outlooks very easy and enjoyable. Will be going back again!!

We didn't have nearly enough time to explore all of the Canyon and see all of the beautiful things it has to offer. Those steps are definitely strenuous and not recommended for the faint of heart. I thought Cloudland Canyon was nice because it has...More

It was such a gorgeous hike! The way to the falls was much easier than the way back...so many stairs...but it was worth it! The woman working in the welcome center was so knowledgeable and made sure we had enough water.

Great place with waterfalls. The trip down to the bottom of the canyon is not too bad but I counted over 600 steps back to the top. You have to be in shape to take it all in but I highly recommend it. Allow plenty...More

We stopped here on a whim after seeing it on a map. We were headed to Chattanooga and thought we'd stop and spend some time in Georgia. So glad we did! They have amazing views, hiking trails, disc golf, and a very nice campground. We...More

I hesitate to leave a review because I don't want this wonderful family secret let out of the bag. That said, it's too lovely not to say happy things about this well-run place. Our family has traveled here for years to find a bit of...More

Great way to spend a Saturday hiking to one of the beautiful falls. If your adventurist, nice place to dip your tootsies have hiking to the falls (park does not recommend this), but have to be extra careful on the rocks. Bring plenty of water...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Are the walk in campsites relatively easy to carry gear to? I understand it's about a mile long loop, but I'm hoping to not have to carry anything too far since we don't have backpacking gear, we have full sized stuff. Any advice would be great!

It depends, if you're lucky and get to the park early you can park very close to a couple of walk-in sites. I've camped in two of the walk-in sites and one was approx. 150' from parking lot and the second time probably 50'.

Of the sites that have tent pads, you could put several small tents or one large tent. I believe only six people are allowed at any one site. I do know that there are a number of walk in sites that do not have tent pads.
Can you build a campfire while camping in a tent?
