I just loved Fort Frederica!! We arrived a few minutes after they opened and enjoyed the video in an empty theater. Do not miss the video as it explains the history of the site and is very well done. There are not many structures left...More

We visited here on a Sunday afternoon. We had a wonderful time walking the site and viewing the exhibits. If you visit here during the summer months, wear bug spray and on sunny days, sunscreen. The gnats were rough. The best time to visit here...More

Definitely worth a visit. Beautiful setting for and old settlement. Can get hot and there is a lot to see so water, hat and sunblock are a plus!

Our group of adults and children ages 5-10 enjoyed it. Lots of stops you can read or listen to info on your phone. Beautiful live oak trees with spanish moss. Probably should bring bug spray and sun screen though. Free activity.

Really a neat place to spend a few hours. Be sure to catch the 20 minute video in the visitor center before you walk the town site. And it's free!

While on St Simons Island we wanted to visit some historic sites and Fort Frederic National Monument and park. It is a very peaceful tranquil site. There is a Ranger station and a video to familiarize you with the landscapes.

We actually visited this fort on Memorial Day. The history here is to interesting and the exhibits are very informative. But the best part was the cannon fire ceremony to mark this particular day. The men dressed in British uniforms and thoroughly explained all the...More

Fort Frederica Nat'l Monument was a very nice surprise. Thought it would be a quick 20 minute visit, but spent over 2 hours there. Easy walking, great views and lots of interesting facts about the town and fort.
