The day that we visited was perfect, the sun was shining and the air was refreshingly cool. After climbing the 129 steps to the top, the weather made the view even more impressive than it normally is. The staff was very informative and the gift shop carries wonderful souvenirs.

a very nice museum, especially for those into light houses. museum depicts what an old time lighthouse keepers home was like as well as a history of the area. you can climb to the top of the lighthouse and have an excellent view of the area.

The tour of the lighthouse was very informative. The prices for the tickets were a little pricey but definitely worth a visit for the time you were here

We climbed the relatively short staircase to get a very nice view of the Saint Simons surrounds. Admission also includes the Mariner Museum which is also quite informative and you can climb to the watch tower for a nice view.

Quick overnight trip to the island from Atlanta and we definitely enjoyed listening to the history of the island at the museum that was right in time for Black History Month in the view at the top of the lighthouse was spectacular. Windy but spectacular!

I have a book that I collect stamps for all lighthouses/lightships that I visit. I enjoy learning a bit about the history of the lighthouse, as well as the unique characteristics of them This lighthouse and museum... More

We stopped by at 4 on a Wednesday and they where closed, we did check the hours and I guess they change with the days. The lighthouse is pretty and we did find entertainment at the play grounds and pier.

I love to learn about the history of places I visit. If you do to then this is a must stop. Something about this place that just breathes into you. The staff we met were very informative and eager to talk with you. Ask them questions, they know stories not written in the history books. St Simon has some rich... More

The Lighthouse Museum is located in an historic area in the center of St. Simons. A nice place to visit right next to Mallery Street. The gift shop is surprisingly unique and enjoyable.

But is a replica of the original. The view of the outside was nice but wasn't open to go inside yet when we were there.
