Some really interesting cars, including a lot of very early cars. My favourite was the aquatic car. Really friendly and knowledgable staff. The bluebird exhibition and film was interesting - those cars/ boats were huge! Great activity for a rainy morning/ afternoon, we enjoyed it a lot. Good value for the ticket price.

On a recent trip to the lake district with my partner we decided to visit the lakeland motor museum, and were more than impressed. So glad we decided to add this visit to our trip.

It would be easy to lose a few hours looking around, there is a lot packed in, and shows great range of vehicles, Old Fire Engine, old Bicycles, Motorbikes and various iconic cars. Don't imagine too many children would enjoy it. Also shop and cafe on site, although we never used the cafe.

I do like motor museums, and this is a good one. This has the added attraction of having the story of Donald Campbell/ Bluebird attached to it. Its a nice small museum, with interesting exhibits - have to say its very well packed, and a decent static display of bikes through the ages, with a segment on John Mc Guinness.... More

A well arranged museum which brought back so many memories of family owned cars from the past. A Jag XK140 brought back memories of driving one too fast and having a blow out. A ModelT van similar to one we have in family photos, owned by my grandfather.

On a recent day trip to the Lakes we decided to visit the Lakeland Motor Museum and were not disappointed. It was an easy museum to navigate your way as there were arrows pointing you in the right direction throughout. There was a vast array of cars ranging from the early 20th century up to the 1990's. It brought back... More

I remember when this was based at Holker Hall and was expecting an improvement in its new home. Slightly disappointed to be honest, worth a visit on a wet day if you're looking for something to do but don't make a special trip.

We visited here our way back from Ulverston. They allow dogs on leads which is good as we go everywhere with our. The dogs did not comment on the cars that much though ! Very interesting and there is a lot of stuff crammed in quite a small space. there is also the Bluebird exhibit to look at as well.... More

We arrange an annual holiday for our church and this year we came to Grange-over-Sands. Having gone to the area in August last year, we visited the museum and were impressed with how helpful the staff were, as a group we had decided that, as well as going to the museum, we would take a trip on Windermere and were...
