Beautiful clean sandy beach with a nice pier at the end of the downtown. Nice to visit even in February. Quiet thru the week on the off season a little less on the weekend

For a three mile wide island, the water is fairly calm. Not an undertow to be scared of. In the mornings, shells are easy to find around the bends. The water is kinda scummy. Bike riding is great and perfect for families. Lots of beach...More

Wife and I visited Savannah for the weekend. We snuck over to Tybee Island for the afternoon for the sand and sun. Way to “touristy” sums it correctly and I’m glad we were only staying a few hours. Parking was absurd and took multiple laps...More

We loved the beaches and quaint community. It is definitely a “throwback” beach area. WE enjoyed no high rise chain hotels. The only 2 negatives were no beach area to walk your dogs and the price for parking was expensive in the beach area and...More

This beach is pretty wide even at high tide. Plenty of people but still not crowded because it is so large. There are barsand restaurants along the main drag, but none on the beach itself.

Beach is fun to walk, water not cleanest. Beaches in gulf coast much nicer IMO. Watch the sharks, dolphins swim and the big barges go in and out. Bench's song beach to sit that swing. Parking in season is a drag, but in winter easy.

We were looking for the lighthouse first as we love visiting them on our trips. We also found the beach next door, but it was very breezy and cold so we walked out on the boardwalk to take pictures of the ships arriving and departing...More

We spent a week at one of the beachfront accommodations and had direct access to the beach adjacent to the pier and pavilion. Despite the fact that it was a bit cool, we took daily walks on the hard, flat surface of the beach. The...More

Did not eat, or shop at any place on Tybee island. Ridiculous pay to park even at the resturants, which none have parking lots. We HAD to go away from the front street nightmare to find a place to eat. WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO...More
