We visited this beach the Friday after Hurricane Irma. We didn't realize there was a beach there. We were trying to get to the Tybee Lighthouse and Museum but it was closed. It wasn't reopening until Saturday. As we pulled up to the lighthouse we...More

Barring hurricanes and tiptoeing around washed-up jellyfish, a fine beach. Generally warm if not exactly sparkling-clear waters, flights of pelicans offshore, occasional pods of dolphins, crabs burrowing in sand, and always some impressive cargo ship in the distance, bound for or departing the port of...More

We love the small community of Tybee. It has quaint shops, great restaurants and wonderful beaches. The beaches are clean and well kept. They protect the dunes, which is awesome and not always the case at other beaches we have visited. There are plenty of...More

We were in Savannah moving our daughter into college and we wanted to check it out. We only stayed an hour but plan on coming back to make a day of it. What a beautiful beach! The water was beautiful! We enjoyed a stroll along...More

Fell in love with this small, quaint town at the beach. The beach was pretty clean, chair rental was $5 per chair and umbrella's were $20. The water was beautiful, 82 degrees, some waves but calm not like the Jersey Shore, but loved it! Little...More

Have had Tybee on the bucket list for a while now but it was disappointing. Dirty, low class and gross on the pier. Would never visit again. The hotels along the beach were not impressive looks like a college spring break location.

Be advised there are locals that definitely do not like anyone with out-of-state tags. My family and I were going to load our kayaks after a great day at Little Tybee Island. We pulled our boats onto the ramp at Alley Street when a local...More

Clean beach with plenty of convenient pay parking. The further you go north of the fishing pier, the less crowded the beach gets. Not sure whether that holds for south of the pier.

Without a lot of expertise in the area, we've found some success in two ways: (1) when the waves break at the shoreline, there is often some shells that get thrown up; and (2) when we dig at the shoreline, as we use a 2ft... More

There are not showers at each beach entrance. We entered the beach a couple of miles from the marine center (in a more residential area) and there were no showers. I believe the closer you get to the marine center the better... More
