I really enjoy coming here! I love looking at the art and taking some time to myself. However, the staff always seem to be circling you, which makes it very unnerving and hard to relax at all in here. You always feel like you're going to get yelled at. I was in the large room for a while enjoying the... More

We were lucky enough to be in Boise while BAM was having their 2017 Idaho Triennial show of contemporary art. We were very surprised and impressed. The art was as good as anything you'd see in Portland or Seattle. As if this show wasn't enough, there were two other wonderful shows going on simultaneously. We were very inspired by our... More

This small museum of contemporary art is a great way to spend a couple of hours. Easy to walk to from downtown hotels, the museum building shows off the art to its best. Really enjoyed the variety of shows - ceramics, Idaho artists, sculpture garden and a high school student show. Well curated and displayed. Always happy to see new... More

Sorry for breaking the secret of the kids place, I love bringing our children here when the weather is either gloomy, rainy or snowy. The exhibits are wonderful, varied and quite magical for a small city. Being spoiled at MOMA or other modern museum, proud to say its a magical little visit.

My teen daughter likes coming here, so every once in a while we go. The displays are usually very good (FOUR stars), and we enjoy them. But at times I wish the help was a little more ... um ... helpful. I know it's not a place where guided tours are feeding us a bunch of information, but the last... More

I bring my kids a few times a year when they switch to a new art display. The variety of those new offerings allow my kids to feel like they are visiting a new museum each time they go. They also like the kids area where specific activities tied to the new exhibit reinforces what they are seeing.

I'm partial to art museums and glad my Boise host brought us here. There were a number of special and delightful exhibits including a folk art one, found objects, a ceramics exhibit and a wondeful exploration of wildflowers which included delicately executed pencil drawings and watercolors. My favorite pieces were a "tramp art" table elaborately constructed of tiny pieces of... More

I'm not a huge art museum gal, but this one was awesome. There was an origami display which blew my mind, a kids activity room, interactive displays with time-lapse videos and some really cool local and international paintings, ceramics etc. I was seriously impressed and couldn't believe hubby and I were there for well over 2 hours. It's also in... More

Some of the exhibits are amazing including the mythical animals traveling exhibit. It was interesting using the phone to call and find out more about the exhibit I was looking at. I was disappointed that I couldn't take any pictures in the sculpture garden. Plan to spend several hours there.

BAM is a wonderful museum with rotating exhibits that do not let down a viewer and a great permanent collection of ceramics and paintings. Fun museum store too. Went to a ticketed fashion art show event and that was a blast.
