So why do you not feel as uncomfortable as I to see no black persons, not even one black person, outside this museum? Own your message of tokenism and insincerity. I wanted to learn about the fascinating history, not see a stage set. My message is not an insult to white Idahoans. I am holding the mirror up so you can see what I see. Perhaps you will care to address this. totadigi@gmail.com

Yes, it's small but small doesn't mean it doesn't pack a lot of knowledge. Someone stated it's odd...nothing odd about dedicating to a certain people, without this museum I had no idea blacks contributed to Idaho. Great stop.

We visited the Black History Museum which is in Julia Davis Park.
Outside the museum is a bench where one can take a photo with a statue of Abraham Lincoln (who is also on the bench).
The museum itself is historic as it is in the St. Baptist Church, constructed in 1921. The church itself was founded in 1908 by Reverand Wiliam B. Hardy. In 1982 it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
There are exhibits to see in the Museum. (Note: Hours are limited so one may want to check the times they are open if interested in going into the museum.)

This is a worthwhile stop. It is inside the old historical St. Paul Baptist Church located at Julia Davis Park. It is small but very, very informative on Idaho's black history, and there is magnficient art work on display. The painting of MLK Jr. is well worth the visit alone.
The only disappointment is that it's open only on Sat & Sun, so one must schedule around that in order to visit. But it's worth it.

I love black history and hope to become a history teacher, focusing on the social status of blacks and slaves during WW2. I liked this meusum, but it was very small. There was a lot of information posted, but it could have been more lively a little more interactive, and easier to read the huge amount of information.

Small, but does have a fair amount of history in it. A little hard to access for wheelchairs. Not dissapointed, but also wouldn't rush back to see a second time

This was a nice little museum we visited in the park, the exhibits were interesting, but not very interactive. Probably would have been better for older kids than our under 10 crowd.

Stumbled across thus as I was visiting the rose gardens across the street. Looks like some limited hours. It is pretty small but gives some nice history
