Display of Military History keeps our Freedom Fresh in our minds

It has been a while since we were actually inside the museum. Our Freedoms are kept visible here with all the reminders of the Men who have served.

Visited this museum with my husband, who is a veteran and was looking forward to viewing the exhibits. Upon entering, we were greeted by a man, a staff member, who requested we sign the guest book. As we were signing, he told us know in a very aggressive manner that "Now, the museum is technically free, but of course we... More

The museum as lots of free parking. Outside the museum are tanks, trucks and aircraft that visiters can enjoy before or after visiting the museum. There is no cost to eneter the museum. Inside are many displays that pay tribute to those who served our country.

This small museum packs a lot of information. Tanks, planes, trucks and other large equipment stand outside. Inside there are displays covering Idaho's military history. Small gift shop. A must for history buffs.

The Idaho Military History Museum is a wonderful tribute and remembrance of those who served this country of ours. From uniforms to medals, newspaper clippings and planes, you get a feel of Idaho's military involvement and dedication. A nice day trip.

Good place to stop while in the area. Free of charge, self guided. And lucky enough that the base next door had a military F15 land while we were there.

While not an extensive museum, allow a few hours to read all the information on the exhibits. There are lots of weapon exhibits and an outdoor section with military vehicles and aircraft to wander around when you are finished exploring indoors. There aren't any 'hands on' exhibits but during my visit there were children enjoying the outing. The additional information,... More

Take the kids, see the stuff. Explain to them why the have the freedoms they have today. A tip: Watch for live enactments and live cannon fire for special events.

We happened by this museum on our bike trip across the country. We were taking some back roads in Boise and saw the museum. It was Sunday, so it was closed, but there is a bunch of equipment displayed outside. Tanks, artillery, military construction equipment, cannons, jets, jeeps, etc. Mostly US, but there is a MIG as well. It was... More
