I expected more from this museum. The film clip that is shown is 30 years old but does provide some great background as to the history of the area including the local tribes, military, logging, mining, and water transportation on the lake... the "current day"...More

Lots of good info about both white folks and First Peoples here. Economic and social history. The way the Coeur d'Alene indians got put on a reservation didn't seem particularly brutal, but you could see a people being confined when they had previously been able...More

The filmstrip gave a great overall perspective on the history of the area. Exhibits were interesting too. This museum will take a 45 mins to see. Take a walk on the waterfront when you are done?

I wasn't incredibly impressed with the museum because there wasn't much to look at. The employees were very sweet and knowledgeable, but the attractions themselves were not all that in my opinion.

Very nice facility, interesting exhibit, and free parking to boot! I really liked the mining and antique uniforms on display. Very clean and well organized from early days to present. Enjoyed the museum very much!

The museum itself was pretty small, but it has a lot of history packed into it on the steam boats, logging, Native Americans, and early settlers. They also have a temporary exhibit on the railroads right now. Took us about an hour to go through...More
