The trail is great for all sorts of exercising, biking, running, etc. The nature on the trail is absolutely gorgeous as well, so if you're looking for a somewhere to just take a walk. . .it's also really long and easily accessible at several points.

From my hotel (HIE) I could easily get on the trail and either head toward the lake or west toward the falls. Trail is well marked and makes for easy exercise after a day of business.

This trail starts at Higgins Point. My son and I rode it from that point into downtown and back. There is one major hill that my at-the-time 6-year-old had to walk up, but other than that, he did a great job on the 15-mile trip!

One of favorite summer activities is riding our bikes on the Centinnial Trail. It has great place to swim along the lake too.

We rode the trail through town from Blackwell Island, great signage, paved. My husband rode through and kept going out of town. Said it was a great trail with some nice views. Not hilly, paved and well thought out.

It was great to get on our bikes and travel this easy path along the lake. We passed by cute neighborhoods, sculptures and the lovely water. Definitely worth the time.

Easy access from downtown McEuen Park parking area. Pick up trail after walking through the Coure d'Alene resort. Beautiful walk along the lakeshore and on toward the Spokane River. Incredible outdoor asset. Biking also possible on trail.

I agree with JayRayBee's answer, also closer to town the Coeur d'Alene is lovely but much more expensive. In the Riverstone area there is also a Hampton Inn and it is closer to another biking path that is pretty nice as well... More

It might be too late to give you this info, but North Idaho College has what they call Outdoor Pursuits. They rent all kinds of outdoor equipment. I'm not sure if they do bikes, but I'm sure they'd know who to rent from. You... More
