I sent the following email to Howells about our negative experience the day after we went there, and did not receive any response back from them. I highly suggest NOT going there as they oversell their tickets to the point that going on attractions is not possible. Spend your money at Warner’s instead.
I visited Howells on October 23 with my family and my friends and their families and we were very disappointed. We all used gift cards from being rained out last year. Last year, we arrived and it immediately started pouring and we had to leave and were unable to do any activities.
This year, we arrived and were unable to do any activities either. It was very clear that Howells oversold their tickets for yesterday. I have lived in the Niagara region my whole life and been to Howells often and I have never seen the lines for each activity that we saw yesterday. With kids ranging 2 months - 7 years old, we are not able to stand in a 30 minute line to do an activity.
I understand Howells is a business and you need to make money, and maybe because of the rain days you needed to sell extra tickets for yesterday but it shouldn’t be at the expense of the experience for the people there. We planned this way in advance, not even knowing how nice the weather was going to be. Hoping to make up for our rainy experience last year and all our children could do was play in the park, something we could’ve done literally anywhere, without having to pay, at minimum, $50 per family.
Very disappointed that Howells has become so focussed on money and not on the experience.

Definitely not like it used to be l. We where here 2yrs ago and 10 yrs ago. And this time we where very disappointed. Its over crowded - they sell way too many tickets for the day. We waited in lines for 20 -40 mins to do activities like the haunted house and pillow jumping. Some washrooms where out of order so the lineup for the washrooms was so long. The staff are not very friendly (seems like mostly high school kids) and they have not changed or added anything in years. I didn't see any cleaning / disinfecting or wiping down high touch surfaces the entire time we where there. Save your money and go to a smaller farm that isn't over priced and over crowded.

Planned a family fun night, purchased tickets for a Tuesday for a specific time thinking due to having to per purchase them for a time slot that volume of people would be controlled, not the case. The lines were insane an hour wait for a hay ride? Every attraction had an extremely long line. Our daughters ended up doing 2 things in 2 hours due to the lines and crowded attractions. I will never return and would never recommend coming here.

It’s been 5 years since i’ve gone. The prices are ridiculous. Cost my boyfriend and I $40 to only walk the corn maze because the rides lines were ridiculous. Found out they were out of candy apples, couldn’t even get the 40$ worth to get candy apples.

In general, Howell's has gotten really overpriced yet hasn't made any improvements or even prioritized upkeep to account for how busy it's gotten. It just isn't worth it for what you pay anymore. $24 per ticket to get into a pumpkin farm is already pretty outrageous. But besides that a lot of the activities are an extra cost and a lot of the other ones have not been upkept. They weren't doing the shows with the pumpkin dinosaur this year which is kind of what they're known for so I thought that was crazy. There is a small handful of things you can do for the entry fee, a haunted house, a corn maze, a wagon ride- all were insanely over crowded with lines an hour + long and honestly kind of hard to enjoy (when you're trying to shuffle around 50+ other people in a corn maze it kind of loses its charm and it's hard for little kids to wait in a line that long in any situation, much less when the attraction ends up being worse than previous years and not how they remember it). You have to book ahead for a specific time so they really have no excuse for not limiting guests to an amount they can actually handle. They were super understaffed, we weren't offered a map or pamphlet when we arrived like in previous years so we had no idea when the shows were or what attractions were open- had to seek someone out to ask about pumpkin dinosaur shows and their response was "I don't think we're doing that this year' I thought it was kind of crazy they weren't even sure. They've added features like a beer garden and firepits (which are of course an extra cost) so it comes off like they do have resources to expand and take care of the place, they've just chosen to focus on adding things that they can upcharge people for and have kind of let everything else fall to the wayside. A lot of the attractions were super rundown, food and drinks were insanely overpriced and washrooms were roughly 3-5 portapotties- no where near enough for that crowd and they didn't upkeep then at all so they were disgusting and basically overflowing. It's pretty obvious they're just trying to capitalize on how trendy/popular this place has gotten and squeeze every dollar possible from every guest while not even bothering to take a little pride in the property/experience. They just seem to want to maximize profits. Hopefully they make some improvements for the super high prices they're charging, until then we'll try out Warner's or one of the other smaller pumpkin farms inn the area.

Washrooms were filthy dirty and we arrived when it opened, so they should have been cleaned from the night before. They were never maintained all day.

We have made Howell’s an annual tradition with our family for the last 8 years. This year was a disappointment with various displays not working. Bathrooms were filthy and run down. It is definitely in need of updating.

I was very disappointed when trying to input my CAA membership that the website would nit take it. Paying $160 to take my family to the pumpkin patch didn't seem very reasonable to me. I was very disappointed to have to pay for almost all the attractions there, with half of them broken. I brought it to the attention of one if the employees as my son was very excited to "shoot apples" and he laughed and said "ya its broken". So not only was it very frustrating that I had just spent money on 3 buckets of apples for my children to "shoot", but it was even more frustrating that the employee found humor in my children getting frustrated that the attraction wasn't functioning properly. Overall this experience was more frustrating than fun.
