There are many ways to experience this wilderness, but I suggest finding a good outfitter and running one of the rivers or staying in one of the lodges. Hike along the way or pack in on horseback. Amazing outdoor experiences to be had.
A magnificent Idaho treasure of unspoiled virgin forests albeit difficult to enjoy for many older or handicapped people.
The non-motorized access does allow for boots on the ground in pristine areas God created.
Beautiful area with many back trails and gravel roads. thoroughly enjoyed the scenery, the solitude, and the lack of people. Recommend this area if you want to take several days to get away from it all and camp in a nice uncrowded setting.
