Lido is a wonderfully serene place in the winter. Although there are motor vehicles, unlike most of Venice, they are unobtrusive, and they stop for pedestrians! I imagine it can get rather crowded in the summer months.

I lo e the long sandy lagoon where you walk for a mile before your shoulders are covered but, if you can, try and get on a private hotel beach as the muncipal beach is a little tatty, serving canteen food.

Along the beach is partially privatised but, there is a section at the end which is public. The public section gets really busy. That said the beach is lovely.

The beach does not look that great, however, for those who enjoy walking on the beach, with the noise of water breaking on the shore and the sea breeze on your face, this beach is wonderful.

Clean, quiet beach shelving shallowly into the Adriatic Sea. Glorious spot to chill out - walking along the sand or paddling in the sea! :-)

We stayed on this island and enjoyed our short walk to this beach. Understand that there is a public beach as well as a private one where you pay to reserve a cabana. The restaurants at the public beach serve nice large beers if you...More
