Didn't like the attitude of the owners. The hours on the website for July when we went there, said they were open until 6pm. By 5pm, they had already closed the gold panning section. Also, they were not friendly.

It was fun and educational, our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. The story behind the mine was very interesting and the mine was spectacular. Allocate 3 hours (1 for the tour and 2 hours gold panning).

While our guide was friendly and informative, there simply isn't much to this mine and minimal displays of mining techniques, certainly not worth the cost of the tour. The gold panning is more a kids thing with polished stone in abundance, but little if any...More

I've been around a lot of mines in my lifetime but in my book this one has to be #1. It's a small hand dug hard rock mine with quite a mysterious history. After passing through the gift shop your guide will walk you through...More
