    Amazing experience!
We went to Mont Gras as two couples and were welcomed by friendly staff who spoke perfect English. Our tour guide was Marcello and he made our experience! We then did the wine making activity which we would highly recommend. We sampled, blended, bottled, corked our own bottle with great details with added wax top and personalised labels. As a group we’ve done lots of wine tours in vineyards around the world and all agreed this was the best. After the tour we relaxed in the lovely grounds finishing our wines.

Very friendly and welcoming winery with good value wines
We visited several wineries when in Santa Cruz and this was definitely our favourite. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is that there isn’t a cafe or restaurant where we could have a coffee or lunch had we wanted to but I understand this is to be the next project! We visited without a reservation and were warmly welcomed by Marcello who spoke good English. He organised a tour for us and even brought us a complimentary taster glass of wine while we waited. The tour was probably one of our best ever and we learned a lot even though we have done wine tours all over the world! After the tour we tasted 3 different wines, all of which were very pleasant and reasonably priced. Our only regret was that we had to rush off as our taxi arrived, booked by Marcello at our request but unfortunately a bit too prompt!!
What lovely words! Thank you very much! We are very glad you enjoyed your visit with us, and Marcelo will be delighted to read your comments.

    Fantastic picnic experience
The winery offers a picnic which can be taken on the terrace or at the tables in front of vines. There are other more secluded places without seating as well. We were given a generous and varied food basket and allowed to choose one of their standard wines from the selection at the shop. We stayed 2 and 1/2 hours including a short stroll among the vineyards. Heavenly and we thought very good value.
Thank you very much! We are glad you enjoyed your picnic and our hospitality.

My Husband and I had a private tour of this beautiful vineyard. As someone who only drinks white wine in an area where they only make red wine it was really interesting to hear how both white and red wine is made and the difference. The Sauvignon blanc was very enjoyable and my Husband enjoyed the red wines. We would recommend a visit.

This tour was amazing! Marcelo and Gonzola were both so friendly, and made our experience very enjoyable. The staff here all seemed so happy and although its a huge company, it didn’t feel like it at all with these two as guides. Highly recommend the ninquen wine - can’t wait to buy more when we’re back home!

We made a same day appointment (not recommended), at the guardhouse they were expecting us and they knew our name. Marcelo greeted us with a smile and the most knowledgeable host we’ve had at all wineries in the area. Attention to detail from start to finish. Great tasting and wines. Highly Recommended!

Our guide Marcelo was so enthusiastic and he really made this tour so great. Me and my brother learned a lot about wines due to his quizzing style of guiding. We saw the wine yards and saw steps in the wine making process, including the aging in the barrels. We ended with a tasting where we could taste totally different and interesting wines they produced.

We visited the Montgras vineyard today and had a great time. The staff was Soo welcoming and friendly. Christian was our guide and was super informative and spoke great English. They even let you pick grapes straight from the vine and explain the properties and characteristics of the different grape varieties. You then move to the modern production facilities and get to watch the workers in action. The vineyard is a very low pressure, relaxing place as most of their profits are from wine exports, not tourist dollars. You then get to try 4 different wines with cheese and crackers and water. You can also just do a tasting without the tour for only 6,000 pesos, while still enjoying the beautiful ambiance. They have a nice gift shop where you can buy affordable wines too We did NOT need a reservation either. In fact we tried to make one and they simply told us the times of the tours and said come at our leisure. Soo easy, plus you can take a collectivo taxi to the bodega also. They are available right outside the lider grocery store, at the very end of the taxi stalls. Enjoy

After two great weeks touring wineries in Mendoza, Argentina and Colchaqua, Chile we tried something a bit more casual and off the beaten path…. sunset wine tasting from a hill overlooking the valley. Gonzalo at MontGras Winery met us outside the winery late in the day and led us up to a hilltop for a first tasting and toast to an awesome two weeks. We then moved to a secluded campsite/patio deck equipped with lounge chairs, music, umbrellas, restrooms….and owl. Gonzolo kept rolling out appetizers, cheese and MontGras wines and we simply melted. This is a new venture for Gonzalo and few have had a chance to enjoy it … until now.

Prior to coming to montgras we had visited la postolle, montes and viu monets wineries. La postolle and montes were good, however we felt as if viu monet did not really add anything after having visisted the prior two. However after viu monet we went to montgras and had, by far, our best vineyard experience. Our guide Marcelo was very informative and fun. Would recommend anyone who visits santa cruz not to miss montgras!!
