My friend and I stopped for about an hour on the way from Midewin back to Indiana. There was no fee to get in, which was great. We hiked along the river, over the Rock Creek suspension bridge and down into the Rock Creek riverbed....More

A picnic and walking/cycling retreat in the summer and fall. Room to roam for pets and young kids and an ideal destination for runners. There are always enough people milling around to allay the fears of even the most security-conscious. Be aware that there is...More

So many things to do at the state park - camping, hiking, fishing. Scenery is good, even watching birds or any other kinds of activities within the park area.

This park was gorgeous in Fall. We had a picnic and there was a lot of tables. Kids loved the swing sets all over the park. It is a great place to go for a walk.

Just a few miles outside of Kankakee, one is able to escape from both the town and the cornfields and enjoy some riverside tranquility. The flat paved paths are perfect for bicycling. There are also trails for walking, a playground, and lots of picnic tables...More

Just driving around at the state park. I go by there every day on my way to work. Today I drove through the park and took some pictures. Here are some. Hope they are helpful.

I was here for an event. We did some meditation. It had a nice path to walk and I saw a lot of bicyclists. It was peaceful sitting down by the river. It was a shame campsites were closed for renovations. I enjoyed looking at...More

Good for bike trail. Most famous hiking trail of the park named Rock Creek doesn't seem to get many visitors too. It was good enough near the river but is not well maintained in other areas. Restrooms in the park weren't clean.
