I have been going here on field trips since I was a kid so I am little jaded. If you are visiting the museum for the first time it is interesting and with so many other things in the area to see it is surely worth the stop. Some of the displays are as old as the building itself but... More

Got tickets to see the Terra Cotta Warriers the other weekend. Its literally been years since I've been here, so was looking forward to our visit. Tip - definitely buy your tickets online. We were able to bypass all the lines and just walk right through. There was also a line for the coat check ($3). We picked 12:30 for... More

This is a great museum. It's got a little bit of everything for everyone and the 3D movie is not bad. Of all of the museums on the Museum Campus, the bistro here has the best food if you need to grab a quick lunch. We came through the lower level's Eastern entrance and there was hardly a wait. After... More

It was the second time I visited the museum. The first time I went there 8 years a go I liked it very much. But now it seems only a collection of artifacts but without some logic, just like a collection of things. Probably going with teen kids it would be better

Staying in South Loop

Neighbourhood Profile
South Loop
This downtown neighborhood offers a variety of activities ranging from cultural to sporting. If you happen to visit during football season, you may bump into a boisterous few fans on their way to a Bears game on the southernmost tip of South Loop. On the flip side, Museum Campus offers cultural and educational experiences in its planetarium, museum and aquarium, all situated along the lakefront. Grant Park is one of Chicago’s premier locations for green space and recreation with views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Take a stroll down memory lane in the historic Prairie District where you can enjoy views of old historic homes. Restaurants, theaters, and clubs are spread throughout the neighborhood along with a collection of burger joints along Michigan Avenue just across from the park.
