We visited the planetarium for the first time after many trips to Chicago. It was part of the City Pass. (We highly recommend buying the city pass if you are in Chicago for more than 2 days and plan to hit the museums.) We spent 3 hours there which was about right. You definitely could have spent more time or... More

Went to three different "star shows" and had lunch in the Galileo Cafeteria. I found the exhibits of 2 man flights really enlightening. The star shows were excellent. Seats were comfortable.

I didn't like the schedule of the shows, because it meant we couldn't watch them all unless we wanted to be there for 5-6 hours. It was an OK visit. My 13 year old didn't love it, but one of the shows was really good.

This was one of our favorites on our Chicago trip! We squeezed it in last minute which is something we regret. We wish we would have made more time to spend here. We saw the Planet Nine show and it was so interesting and entertaining. Watching it within the dome makes it feel like you are actually in space! Definitely... More

We went here using the CityPass after spending the first part of the day at the Aquarium. I highly recommend the CityPass, both for the admission savings as well as the inclusion of shows that otherwise cost extra. In my planning, though, I failed to take note of one important fact - the Planetarium closes at 4 pm. I just... More

My husband and I have been wanting to go here for years and finally tried it out on our recent trip to the city. It was very well laid out with plenty of things to see for adults and children. A bit pricey in my opinion for the amount there is to see compared to the other downtown museums, but... More

We enjoyed our visit but found it was more suited to younger children. We were there with our 20 somethings and we found the planetarium quite "tired" and dated. There are some cool things to see but you have to dig pretty deep to find them. Our film experience was corny and geared to little kids. We are spoiled by... More

We brought 2 kids(7 & 10) to watch a show called "The Ninth Planet." I think that is title. I have never been to a planetarium show like that, so even I was excited to visit. The quality of the exhibits are really nice and rival top city museums. I felt that lots of effort and time went into small... More

Showed up about 2pm. Was able to walk through very quickly and get a show in. We did this tour with the City Pass. Everyone enjoyed the time spent.

If you happen to visit during football season, you may bump into a boisterous few fans on their way to a Bears game on the southernmost tip of South Loop. On the flip side, Museum Campus offers cultural and educational experiences in its planetarium, museum and aquarium, all situated along the lakefront. Grant Park is one of Chicago’s premier locations for green space and recreation with views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline.
