The museum is housed in a beautiful old building. The exhibits are very interesting and you need a fair amount of time to see it all. Very nicely done! There are also original photos of many of the rooms of the house, giving one an...More

My 16 year old daughter, who wants to be a doctor, suggested visiting the museum, and we're all happy we did. The exhibitions are informative and easy to follow even for younger children. The gift shop also has some very humorous merchandise for medical enthusiasts.

Interesting topic however there was a lot of reading and most of the font was very small. A gem for the historical medical enthusiast but not so much for the lay person. Definitely not a place for kids.

I've been to this museum twice, and I've enjoyed both times tremendously. It is small but packed with a remarkable collection of instruments from early medicine, statues and paintings just to highlight some of the main attractions. I would say this would be best enjoyed...More

A small gem just south of the Lincoln park on Lake Side drive. 4 floors of surgical history waiting to be discovered.

This is a quirky little gem of a museum, perfect for a one to two hour excursion on a rainy day. What was once obviously a private collection of professional colleagues is now a great place in Chicago to get a taste of the past...More
