I visited on November 1st AND November 5th because I liked this place so much! And, it is FREE! The plants are amazing and the structure itself is really great. The fern and orchid displays are beyond anything I have seen in other conservatories, and...More
This is an excellent place to visit with family. Easy to get to on the Green Line out of central loop Chicago. It is always warm :-) and is totally worth the trip. Spectacular site, really. Christmas it is gorgeous.
The plants in the conservatory are so beautiful! The biggest room is full of different kinds of palms, including a small pond with lily pads (or something that looks like lily pads :). The variety in the room is amazing. There is a smaller room...More
This greenhouse is located next to the Lincoln Park Zoo and it is free admission. The flowers and plants are gorgeous. Check out their orchid room. The place is well-maintained and worth visiting.

My wife loves this place and tries to book long lay over between flights so we can take the L train to visit.
Great all year round, but particularly great in the winter if you want to escape the cold. Tie this into a visit to the Lincoln Park Zoo and you have a fantastic day (or days) in Chicago.
