Busse Woods has a great bike/hiking trail with beautiful surrounds. There are lakes and all kinds of wildlife as a backdrop.

It is a 7 mile bike ride. Be prepared for a long ride. The trail is well marked and paved. There are parking lots in between so you do not have to do the entire ride if you choose not to

The bike trails are great and also good for walking. Nice forest views and they also have an Elk area for the kids to enjoy.

The woods remind me of being in the country. The bike/walking paths are well kept. Being there is like taking a one day vacation.

It is approximately halfway through the woods on Higgins Ave. North of Higgins. Go to the Forest Preserve District of Cook County website: fpdcc. Here is a link to a map: downloads/maps/pdf/bw_trailmap.pdf
