The tour guide was wonderful. She knew all about Galena, the history and of course the house. Really neat, cheap, quick tour to take to learn a little bit of history. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quick history tour

The history of the Dowling House was super cool. Prices a little high for such a short tour. Was there about 20 minutes and it was 12.00 a person.

The tour guide was so over the top animated it was literally the worst tour we were ever on. Forced jokes/puns, I couldn't go to second part of the tour due to access restrictions. Glad of that though so I didn't have to hear the...More

A great little diversion from shopping. This short tour is packed full of information and a huge amount of period correct artifacts. Worth the $10 entrance fee for all the history buffs out there.

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and shared a lot with us. The structure is sound, but the stone walks are somewhat unlevel making it hard for someone using a cane.

Our tour guide was very animated and knowledgeable which made the tour fun. It is a reasonably priced tour and only takes about 30 minutes. The walkway is uneven and there is a stairway.

So you have come to the proverbial fork in the road at Diagonal St. and Main St. There is a sign on the corner building that points directly at the Dowling House and the companion visitor's center. What is the Dowling House? It is the...More

This house was one of the first places we wanted to visit just because of it's historical significance. The house was filled with artifacts that went with the house and it's history. It was very neat to see! The tour guide was less than thrilling....More

This was a strange site. The history of the site was interesting, but it wasn't until the end of the tour when we realize the tour guide LOCKED us in! had there been a fire or something, we would have been toast, because there was...More

Maybe it was an "off" day for them, we don't know. However, it was just a very plain jane tour and we wanted to know more about the family who built it and lived there. The "general store" below was neat to know about, and...More

The Belvidere mansion is included in the package but not worth the money. It is basically a store house for a rich mans hobby of buying antiques and fancy stuff. The house is way over packed with stuff that has nothing in... More
