Extremely pretty site and there is so much to see, it's worth your while to make a few trips. Kids will find the animals fascinating and there are plenty of interesting historical facts to intrigue the adults!

This is a great place to take school children on field trips to experience some of the nature of the Illinois prairie and woods. A respite from suburban sprawl

The nature center is indoors so I would think it would be fine. The outdoor portion would be dependent on the weather.
