Great park to climb on rocks, play on a swing set, or in the summer months swim in a nice sized pool. There is a campground that looks to be well maintained

Visited the park with my two grandchildren, had a good picnic lunch. We got to climb some rocks, hike and skip rocks in the streams. The park was clean and well maintained.

Found this state park on the Internet while researching area for Lake Glendale Stables. Short distance and scenic drive. I think this would be a nice getaway to camp, they have some cabins. A little scenery when you enter enjoying water and some rocks. Seems you might need to do some hiking to explore more of this park. Worth seeing... More

On Monday, there were three RV's in the State Park and one of them was the host. Cost is great for the RV world. $6 for tents but no showers. Somewhat busy for here over the weekend but on Sunday afternoon, everybody was gone. Lots of first come/first get spots that can't be reserved on RESERVE AMERICA. This was a... More

Don't expect to see staff members. Fires are only allowed in stoves, but it provided ample space to have a fire. Fire kindling was packed onto our stoves as we arrived. No nearby showers that can be walked to. Morning and evening chants from nearby "impact center" is heard. Pool is nice, but no heater. Only place with 15 miles... More

After out little chocolate factory pig -out, we figured that we needed to alk some of those calories off and went to Dixion Springs State Park across the street. We were the only ones there at that time at the very entrance to the park and got out with the dogs and walked around admiring the various plants and trees... More

Great camping areas or just visit the park for the day. There is a fee for overnight campers. Some hiking trails and climbing areas but caution is advised especially after some wet weather. One of only 2 state parks that have a swimming pool. $5 bucks per person for swimming from 11:30a to 5:30p.... Pool is open from Memorial Day... More

Great place to relax and eat lunch. Also have a really nice pool with a kids size water slide. Also conveniently located next to the chocolate factory. I recommend the ice cream after a refreshing swim.

Not very extensive but well maintained. Not very big either; we walked virtually the entire park in a short time. Note that right outside the park entrance is a great chocolate-making business that sells various chocolates by weight. A nice break

If Illinois is looking to save some money, this is one park that could be closed down. The campground itself was fine for a few nights. We had a hard time finding a suitable site for our travel trailer. They are not level. We finally got our trailer leveled and went to plug in and found that the electrical box... More
