If you are from Joliet or have spent a significant part of your life here, you will love this museum. If you are not from Joliet, the museum is interesting but not as much. I love seeing how all the places I know have changed and evolved. The exhibits are well thought out, and there's actually a lot to see.... More

Great place to spend some time. It is well kept and organized. It has some very interesting memorabilia about Joliet and the surrounding area. Attended a charity event one evening and had to bring my family in the next week, great family event. Great place to have an event.

The Museum has information on the Joliet area and quite a bit on Route 66. There is plenty of parking located a short walk from the museum. If you collect NPS Passport cancellation stamps, there is one for the I&M Canal located in the gift shop. If you are in the area, it is worth a visit.

this was the first of many museums we stopped at on our Route 66 trip. It was fun and the staff was friendly. It's worth the stop, and the AC was really great on a HOT day. They have a nice gift shop as well.

We have been to the museum for concerts that they have there several times per year. They have a beautiful rooftop area that is open in the summer months and they have concerts featuring different types of music. It is $10 admission, unless you are a museum patron, then it's only $8. They have a cash bar and complimentary hors... More

I gave this an average rating but that is only because I am not from around here nor am I interested in history that only goes back such a short time (I'm more of an ancient history buff). I had my 15 year old son with me and it was not terribly interesting for him. But I give the town... More

We stopped in here on the first day we started doing Route 66. The staff members were the most friendly people that I have met. They sat down with us and ran through the spots to stop at in Illinios on Route 66. They have a little gift shop with Route 66 items plus a few museum exhibits to look... More

I celebrated my birthday Saturday, July 11. The rooftop of the museum is beautiful. It is a great venue to have a party. The event coordinator is extremely helpful and accommodating and I would love to have another party there. My guests were so surprised that a party venue like this was available in Joliet. Go to one of the... More
