If you are in the Chicago area in May? It's worth a trip out to Lombard on the Metra. The train literally drops you off at the entrance to this beautiful little park. The lilacs and tulips are AMAZING. Admission is free. Make it a half-day trip, with lunch at Shannon's Deli. You will NOT be disappointed!! Everything is awesome.... More

This park was a great surprise if you like Lilacs and Tulips. Great place to visit in late April through mid May when things are blooming.

We loved the lilacs and tulips so much last year we came this weekend to see them again. Unfortunately, they were past their prime due to the warmer than normal spring. But the ones in bloom were still gorgeous! The only draw back we've found is in the gift shop; the ladies aren't the friendliest folks around. But this little... More

It's all about timing. Go online to see the bloom report and when it says peak, do not wait! If Lilacs in bloom spell SPRING and the fragrance is fantastic, then a trip here in April/May to see the rich variety of lilac bushes is a must-do. An added bonus, there are tulips galore. Paths are paved but I'm not... More

My husband and I visited Lilacia last weekend and it was awesome! Beautiful scenery everywhere you look! This place will be a photographers dream come true in another week or so when everything is in full bloom. It's a small park, but definitely worth an hour of your day to smell the lilacs and take it nature at its finest.

Being new to the area and back north after many years in Oklahoma, I had noticed some lilac bushes (my favorite) in bloom and said I want to stop and smell the lilacs. I was told to check out lilacia park. So we went and it was BREATHTAKING! A hidden treasure. Between the tulips and the lilacs and the beautiful... More

My goodness this place smells wonderful in May. All the lilacs are in bloom and its just beautiful. We went last year on Mothers Day and it was crowded, but still a beautiful place to just walk and read about each plant. The grounds are done very well. You can also go in December where they cover every inch of... More

Lilacia Park is well known for hosting Lilac Time (Basically the month of May), but it is truly beautiful year-round. Check with the library for hosted activities especially during the summer - movie nights on the lawn are very popular!

Lilacia Park makes for a pleasant visit at any time of the year, but it is in all it's glory in the spring during lilac season. It is home to hundreds of lilac bushes of various colors and fragrances. Additionally, there are thousands of glorious bulb plants such as tulips, daffodils, crocus, etc. It is truly a sight to behold.... More
