The Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio served as Wright's private residence and workplace from 1889 to 1909--the first 20 years of his career. Here Wright developed a new American architecture: the Prairie style. Trained interpreters offer insights into Wright's family life and architectural career. Enjoy guided tours of the museum complex and neighboring historic district seven days a week. Tour details are available on the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust website.

The home and studio tour is very informative. If you love FLR architecture you will love this. After the tour, I recommend getting the FLR tour map of Oak Park and walking around the neighborhood. You will not be disappointed.

Having visited 2 other FLW sites (Chicago and Arizona) this one exceeded my expectations. It reflects Wright's early career and family life and is well worth a visit. The house is no handicapped accessible and stair climbing is necessary. The docents are well prepared and...More

Good introductory tour led by knowledgeable docent--Home/studio was interesting for those already familiar with Wright, but information never too technical for the casual tourist. I definitely think they should offer deeper discounts when you combine multiple tours----I would have loved to taken this tour along...More

We enjoyed this tour. Went with 3 young adults. I think they all enjoyed it. The house has many interesting features. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. Enjoyed learning more about Wright.

Great option for fun activity with out-of-town guests. The tour went at a good pace and the guide was friendly. In addition to learning about FLW we also learned some Oak Park history - including how much street noise there was!

The 'el' Blue Line goes to Oak Park from downtown, getting off at Harlem Avenue. but the studio is about a mile or so from the subway station. Either a healthy walk or a short uber ride away.
