The Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio served as Wright's private residence and workplace from 1889 to 1909--the first 20 years of his career. Here Wright developed a new American architecture: the Prairie style. Trained interpreters offer insights into Wright's family life and architectural career. Enjoy guided tours of the museum complex and neighboring historic district seven days a week. Tour details are available on the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust website.

Really good guide. Interesting tour. Long enough to get a full look at the home and studio, but not so long to get fidgety. We followed up with the walking tour audio guide and we enjoyed it also.

A very informative and delightful tour. It consisted of a great collection of Wrights styles and how they changed as he progressed along in his career,

Oak Park is deceptively far from downtown Chicago, so make the effort to get there worthwhile by doing the longer 3-hour tour. It really is worth the added time and investment. You see more of the house, do a walking tour of the surrounding neighborhood's...More

Frank Llyod Wright is a very colorful character and his house and studio help tell that story. The house is impressive by any standards. It is full of wonderfully eccentric details and beautiful wood work throughout. The quirky details and features of the house are...More

It was a rainy day, so the full impact of the windows and stained glass couldn't really show. But this place is beautiful and truly unique.

It was hot the day we visited, so it was good that half the tour was inside the house and office. Docents were very helpful and well schooled in the history of the home and the architect. Walking tour hit several Wright homes and the...More

Yes, we visited on a Saturday morning of a holiday weekend and no issues. As the day got later was much harder to find parking. Visit in the morning is my suggestion!
