May 30th we called the contact center asking if the Six Nations are open for the public transit and he said " I don't know " .
I have no idea what type of a job he handle if he doesn"t know if the public can visit his community during this time.
We drove 2 hours and we WERE NOT aloud not to even ask a question : when they will be open? , but instead gave us the rejection by hand gestures from the person on the border cross a street and we have to drive 2 more hours to go home. 4 hours drive for NOTHING , what a horrible service , rude unprofessional , arrogant. SHAME ON YOU , SHAME SHAME SHAME

Hm' all those comments about poor treatment? We have been to Ohsweken many times. Usually of the Friday, love the races and the Burger Barn, always been treated in a courteous and respectful manner, and of course reciprocated in kind.
The Burger Barn is country rustic for sure, but the food is awesome, quality and quantity excelled, got to get back there when everything calms down

Everyone who has never been to a POW WOW should attend at least once. The event was very well organized this year and the dancers were very skilled and energetic. Beautiful dances and costumes

This museum combines historical material about Haudenosaunee life, economics, and politics with contemporary art by Haudenosaunee artists. Working on what must be a very modest budget, the people who run this museum do an outstanding job of presenting both the past and the present of indigenous people. I thought the way the issue of displacements was handled was unusually honest.

After all the press we hear, I travelled to the Six Nations reserve. I found women, crafts, and beauty in the shops. I found pelts, and beads, elements of the earth. I met a women making cornhusk dolls, which now hangs on my front door. Worth the trip, and left feeling more connected to the foundations of our great Canada.

I’m not sure if all members are racist but it sure felt that way. If you are not indigenous I wouldn’t visit. They seem to hate people that are not of their culture. I was told I had to revise my review so I’ll just end with, I will never visit there again, I felt unsafe.

Took a trip to Six Nations, had in mind some things they make that we wanted. Found what we were after right away, found the shop keepers friendly and helpful with directions. Worth the drive from Guelph. We will go back this fall. Gas prices low on the reserve, so top up before you leave. Good selection of food options. Some craft and art vendors, some tourist shops.

It was my first time attending a Pow Wow and it was a unique experience. The rhythm, the costumes and above all the spirit of the people were well and alive and it was very contagious. The atmosphere was electric. Many art vendors from the Indigenous communities sold a variety of works in the grounds outside the Pow Wow area which were incredible. Also there were many food options as well which were above average. Few comments I have for the organizers are the following. We came right when the Pow Wow was about to begin hence most of the benches were taken. But there were no volunteers or anyone to guide you so that you were placed in an appropriate section/ area without disturbing the proceedings or the people who were already seated. When we found an area and parked our selves without thinking much and just rushing into it, we realized later on that it was by the seniors tent and when we all stood up during the proceedings we kept on blocking the physically challenged individuals who were seated, which was not a good thing. Felt absolutely bad for doing this. I apologize. If someone had guided us or directed us to places where we could stand, or where there were less people, this issue would not have occurred. The mics weren't that clear during the Pow Wow hence I couldn't really hear what the announcers were saying. Also many "tourists" behaved inappropriately during the Pow Wow by taking waaay too many pictures almost within the grounds and when the people were parading. It was almost like a selfie competition. They were completely out of it. They were also touching regalia of the kids who were partaking in the proceedings, which I understand is not the right thing to do. If there were volunteers as I mentioned before, this could have been prevented and some sort of order and the respect that this event deserves would have been maintained Then the incident that took me by surprise the most was when I requested few kids in regalia for a picture (outside the grounds) they asked money ($5). I didn't expect it. I also saw many people in regalia (adults and kids alike) were charging money for pictures to be taken of them and their outfits. Not sure if this is common practice and if this is allowed? I didn't really like this aspect even though I paid the kids $5 as requested. The program and the website mentions that people are more than willing to pose for pictures if you ask permission. So this was not what I expected. Overall it was a great experience and I think every Canadian or otherwise who were not from the indigenous communities should witness a Pow Wow ceremony to truly appreciate the spirit and essence of these people. Hope to introduce this to more friends and family of mine!

Absolutely stunning! My adopted brother is from the Ojibway tribe and this was his first pow wow. It was so cool to be with him as he learns his heritage during such a beautiful event!! Well worth the admission prices!!

Just a little SW of Brantford. It’s a large reserve, where would you like directions too? I’ve only been there twice and don’t know the area that well but all the streets are on google/Apple maps and directions on the phone or gps will take you where you want to go. You’ll know your close when you start to notice every second house selling illegal cigarettes.
Is this ok or authorized by the six nations or is the government forcing them to to do this for the public
