A small paradise. A short walk to the main waterfalls and then a path leading to a few more smaller falls . Driving route is also very interesting. We had combined it with a visit to Piodao village and it was one of our most enjoyable days in Portugal.

We went with our Brazilian friends to Benfeita in order to make a visit of the “Fraga da Pena”
Frag, a waterfall hidden into the middle of the Protected Landscape of the Serra do Açor, the waterfall is the result of a geological accident crossed by the Baroque de Degraínhos, resulting in a series of successive waterfalls. The waterfall has a height of 19 meters, when you are lucky you can place tha car on the entrance on the street side and then yit is only about a 200 metres to get to the waterfall, nice location in nature, our friends loved it.

It is well signed on the road, and has a decent walking track to the waterfall. If you have enough time, plan to stay there longer to swim a bit. Nice place for picnics and to take the kids.

Very beautiful place, hidden in the forest. It is perfect for an afternoon picnic. Very quiet and peaceful. The two waterfalls are very beautiful but the water is very cold. Only the brave can dive there. A secret spot and for us a must see.

We walked to the waterfall from our nearby lodge. Very nice and quiet, perfect fit an afternoon picknick. Water was cold but did not expect anything else this time of the year.

Compulsory visit on the way to or from PIÓDÃO - an historic village that deserves a visit. There is a small water mill just on the side of the way.

Very pleasant walk with our dogs. Just us arriving in the morning. The waterfall is quickly accessible on the way, no need to walk long if you don’t want to do the whole walk you can just make a round trip to enjoy the swim if it’s the season.

Boa tarde!
