We went on a boat trip with "Ice Lagoon Adventures" trip organizers. It is very well worth making this trip. They take the clients on a 7 km ride through the blue coloured lake, very close to the spout of the huge glacier. On the way we passed various icebergs of different sizes and hues: some transparent, others absolutely blue... More

This place has such of magical atmosphere. You can see the iceberg that goes into the sea.. This place is very romantic and quiet. You can also do a trip into the glacier.. The best place in Iceland, a place to discover..

We were at the lagoon on a very windy day. This made the experience even more thrilling and made us feel the forces of nature even more.

Initially had a zodiac boat trip to take out towards the glacier, though came back at other times to see how the light changed. Evening was definitely the best, and in the end, we took camping kit, and cooked by the side of the lagoon, and had a magical time watching the ice float by down to the sea, and... More

The glacier lagoon is a must visit trip. Seeing icebergs floating is a wonderful thing. It gets very busy & the cafe has a very limited range of food. I would definitely recommend that you bring a picnic, as there is plenty of space to sit & eat with a unique background. If you want to take a boat trip... More

Our party were on a journey along the South coast. We had pre-booked a boat ride on this glacial lagoon. The sky was overcast but the lagoon was brilliant. Our captain, Thorsted, was a most engaging, enthusiastic and informative guide. Our enjoyment travelling on the lagoon was tempered by our understanding of the effect of global warming on its very... Beautiful views towards the lake. We didn't take any boat tours or alike, but just sitting and enjoying the view is enough. Not to be missed.

We only visited the southern part, the one that is nearby the ring road. If you want a short and nice hiking tour, go from the visitor center to skaftafell. We also went to the glacier viewpoint, but it is not worth the effort. If you want to see a glacier, go to the Svínafellsjökull which is nearby and don't... More

So glad I drove all the way to see Jokulsarlon Lagoon with its mysterious icebergs. And oh so glad that we did the zodiac boat tour and didn't just admire the icebergs from the shoreline. The price for two people wasn't cheap (19,000k) but 100% worth it. Our boat driver/guide was great -- gave us lots of info and really... More

There are few places I have visited in my travels around the world where my breath was taken away! Jokulsarlon is one of them. Your first impression is guaranteed to meet your expectations! Just make sure you reserve a zodiac or duck boat ride well in advance online as they are always completely booked out. Seeing all these beautiful aquamarine... More
