As driving toward the waterfall the view was stunning and breath taking. I've never seen anything as beautiful and magical. I had a private area sectioned off and a lovely ivy archway put up right next to the water fall. Here it where me and my partner Aaron become man and wife and it was the most amazing and most... Wow, it is stunning here. We really enjoyed observing the falls, water flow and icicles that form. Just be careful as it's very slippy!

Amazing waterfall. Not the tallest, however the ability to walk behind it made amazing. Could really feel the force of the water. Counter clockwise is certainly the best way to access the waterfall

Saw the Seljalandsfoss falls in Feb of '17. While the weather was horrendous (horizontal rain) it was well worth the trip. Being able to walk behind a waterfall is a fantastic experience, no matter the weather. Well worth the trip from Reykjavik.

The site of the waterfall is somewhat stark, but also striking. There is just so much that you can say about a wall of water falling from one level to another, but the surrounding plain with snow and the distant mountains do make it a nice photo opportunity. There is a path to the top of the waterfall ("foss" in... More

Yet another gorgeous, amazing, spectacular natural attraction in Iceland. (I'm repeating myself in so many TA posts about Iceland). The best part of Seljalandsfoss is getting to walk behind it, but know that you will get soaked, so be sure to throw on some waterproof gear. Behind the falls in the winter, especially when the wind whips through, can make... More

A fantastic experience and one of the prettiest waterfalls in Iceland. Easy to get to off the Route 1 Ring Road, along a short (paved) road which is well signposted. There is a decent-sized car park although this probably gets far busier in peak season. You can walk behind the waterfall and this is not at all physically challenging. The... More

If you want to walk behind the falls be prepared to get wet. It is very windy here and the mist will soak you. The waterfall is beautiful and there is a short walkway to see a couple other waterfalls.

We particularly enjoyed going behind the waterfall. There are also toilets on site which is worth remembering.
