About
The impressive twin 120m waterfalls are located in the Dong Hua Sao National Park on the Bolaven Plateau. Many stop at the nearby Tad Fane resort to take photos and enjoy the view, but there are also treks available in the area that will bring you closer to the falls. Turn off the Road 16e at Km 38 from Pakse in the direction to Paksong.

They were pretty to look at and quite amazing as they’re so high up but you can’t get close to them. Can only see them from a distance at the viewpoint. There are some good photo opportunities there but you’ll need a good quality camera to really capture the waterfalls. It’s also quite far out of Pakse to get to, which is where most tourists stay.

If you only have time for one waterfall then go to Tad Tuang a few kilometers away.

The only thing to see here is two plumes of water across a small gorge.

A very small water fall

The water fall is small, you can only see it from a distance. There’s a resort and a cafe/restaurant but it doesn’t look very inviting

Tad Fane is "masterpiece" of nature

Tad Fane Waterfall
- This is the "masterpiece" of nature. The majestic double waterfall Tad Fane with a height of about 140m day and night falls into the valley below.

- Both cascades fall down on the rock edge below dim day in and day out, eroding and "sculpting" the rocks with strange shapes.

- We visited the waterfall in the dry season so the amount of water is not strong enough to impress, many people recommend coming in the rainy season to feel the power and majesty of this pair of Tad Fane falls (however you have to understand with the disadvantages of the rainy season such as: dirty, slippery, wet roads, insects, mosquitoes and a high probability of dense fog covering the view).

- Zipline service: $37/person & forest trekking tour.

Great visit! Zip line was exhilarating and professional.

Beautiful but beware.... On Sunday 8th March 2020 we had to pay the corrupted tourist police twelve dollars. The crooked policemen were clearly trying to extort money from our driver. They would not let him go and would not explain the problem pretending they could not speak English. We asked for a receipt but they did not give one. Our driver was upset and very grateful that we stuck together.
Hope the two crooked police lose their jobs and go to jail. Disappointing.

the ziplane is the real highlight

Ziplining across the canyon and seeing the waterfall and river below you is truly amazing. After that you can relax in the park and enjoy a coffee in the shade.

Visit to water fall

Walked into the Tad Fan water fall from the coffee plantation at km (lak 40).
The water falls are huge but only the top two thirds are visible across the valley .
If you’re adventurous and solvent there’s the zip wire experience to take you there and back across the gorge and see the whole thing. The restaurant food at the viewpoint is very average . The best thing to do is walk with a guide for another hour and half to The water fall at Tat Gneuang which is magical and stunning . Not as big but much much better.

Amazing Zipline

We shared a tuk tuk with someone to visit some of the Bolaven plateau from Miss Noys bike shop. This was the highest of the 3 waterfalls we visited and it really is a sight to behold. We actually zip lined over the top of it for about 35 euro which was well worth it. The height is 230 metres and the length of zipline is 470 metres. Places for food and toilets close by also. Would definitely go back.

Beautiful waterfall

Two strips of cascading water side by side, surrounded by greenery. There are different viewing platforms for We booked our tour with Asia Top Travel to go around Bolaven Plateau. There is a zip line for the adventure ride. This is one of the beautiful waterfall in Bolaven Plateau, southern part of Laos. We booked a tour through Asia Top travel for hassle free logistics in the southern part of Laos. Anyone who love nature should explore southern part of Laos with many different types of stunning waterfalls. Rainy days is not recommended since it will be foggy as explained by our local tour guide. Entry 10,000Kip per person per entry. There is a resort hotel right in front of the waterfall for anyone who like to enjoy the serenity in the greenery for a bit longer time.
