This trail seems very practical, meaning that it is a method of transportation to several shopping areas. We visited here thinking it was more of a distance trail for bikers, but it is mostly used as a means of transportation (walking/ biking) to Clay Terrace...More

I walked the Monon during the week. I nearly had the place to myself and as a woman alone I felt safe. No hidden curves and well paved.

Trail now extends north to Westfield. Rode 16 miles to state fair grounds and back. Very busy on a Saturday, so be prepared to slow down at times.

Started in the Carmel area, found the trail nice and easy going. Made for a nice day. Rode the trail down to broadripple where we had a meal and then rode back at a nice leisural pace.

I love the evening stroll down this scenic walkway. You could also run or bike. I will come here again for sure!

The Monon trail in Carmel is probably the best man made trail I've been on besides the Pinellas Trail in Florida. There are lots of great stops for food, drink, ice cream, sightseeing and specialty shops.

Monon trail is very easily accessible from Westfield, Carmel, Indianapolis. Great for outdoor exercises for individual, group or family. This trail has access from Carmel downtown.
