A working LST! The tour guides love this boat! They are veterans and volunteers that bring history to life. Stepping aboard helps bring the sacrifice of American soldiers home to the average Americans heart! A must do!

For some reason, when we were traveling to Evansville, I remembered my Grandfather saying that there was a ship there just like his in WWII. So...I went to tripadvisor and bingo! We decided to go and am VERY glad we did. Looking at the gift shop and the memorabilia was fantastic. They weren't busy that Saturday so we had our... More

We were looking for something to on a family visit and Evansville halfway between. We loved it..it is a great piece of history, with a fascinating history and knowledgeable tour guide. There is no substitute for seeing the holes from German aircraft fire,or the bow doors. So glad this piece of history perserved. They are moving downtown next year, I hope... More

This is a very nice and inexpensive tour. The staff is very nice and professional and the guide is young, but knowledge! Admission is $10 and they offer a military discount to service members. The tour lasted about an hour. There is a small gift shop that sells toys, postcards, pictures, literature, shot glasses, shirts, patches, etc. There are restaurants... More

There's at least a day's worth of stuff to see here! We had to split or day into two halves, but we're glad we got this visit stuffed into one side. How does it get to be docked at Evansville you ask? Me too. I didn't see a really good explanation for that, so you'll have to look it up.... More

Toured the LST 325 this morning. This is a very informative and interesting tour. Gives you a great feel for how men and cargo were moved into and out of the battlefields. You also get a real sense of the personal sacrifices the men made to keep these machines running. Cramped, hot quarters were the norm but these men got... More

the people who give tours are so knowledgeable. a bit pricey but given it goes to maintain the ship it balances out. they serve breakfast from the galley on veterans day to the vets!!! so the ship still functions!! great piece of live history!!
