My wife and I did the IMA and Lilly house & gardens this past Saturday 9-24. We took the 1pm gardens tour and we were the only two on it. Our guide (Jamie Gibbs) was great! He was a wealth of knowledge on the history of the Lilly gardens, family and house as he spent lot of his youth on... More

Very elegant home. Both the receptionist and docent were very friendly and knowledgeable. 2nd floor has not be restored but is used as display space (this time they had silver items). Would have been nice if there were signs at least saying what the rooms were originally used for, such as Master Bedroom, upstairs living space, etc. 3rd floor is... More

If you love nature & beauty, this is a must see. The gardens & grounds are a rare example of a preserved estate landscape designed by Percival Gallagher of the Olmsted Brothers firm. The 22-room mansion reflects the 1930s era when the Lilly family lived there. The rest of the estate makes up a major portion of the Indianapolis Museum... More

We love visiting this home of the Lilly Family. The Tiffany exhibit upstairs was amazing. There were so many interesting pieces. Ice cream is always wonderful but as you read how it was cherished and served is amazing. Each Christmas we visit to see a historical perspective of what the home preparations would be like.

Wonderful place to visit and see an enchanting family mansion. Bought some painted lady green bean seeds and looking forward to the harvest this fall.

We loved visiting the garden and greenhouse. The statues make it feel so elegant. The home is lovely and enjoyed the history of the property. The display of silver upstairs is exquisite. Loved it!

This is FREE (donations appreciated). Children will love to see the period furniture, and real kitchen setup, even have nicknacks throughout the residence. Be sure to explore the views and walk out to the gardens to experience old world wealth.

I couldn't believe I got to see the mansion and walk the 100 acres of grounds as it came included with the museum admission. Be sure to really see all the gardens. They have sculptures, fountains, and tons of flowers.
