Definitely a place to tour - great history of Indiana. A beautiful building - they even hold weddings in the State House1

Only got to see the exterior of the Indiana State Capitol. They have some really restrictive visitation hours (particularly on the weekends).

I did not attempt to go in (so I cannot comment on visitor services) but from the canal walk and grounds the place looked great. And right in the middle of everything.

This was the most uplifting scene for me during my Indy visit, it was really mellow. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Will certainly visit again upon my return to Indy.

Indiana State Capital looks better than it did in the 50's, One of my first jobs was to deliver rubber stamps and seals to various offices in the State Capital.

Group tours need to be arranged in advance, depending upon the size of the group--of course. I suggest you go to the Statehouse website and find contact info about tours. When we visited in March, we "tagged along" with a... More
