We found the White River Canal Walk without knowing what a gem that it is in downtown Indianapolis. There were businesses, condos, museums, paddle-boats and a great place to walk. We loved the area and would recommend it for all adults.

This was just a stopover on our way to Springfield, Illinois. When we arrived we we're pleasantly surprised to realize all the attractions at this location. We visited the Indiana State Museum and the Eiteljorg Museum of Native American Art. The admission price to each museum was $13.00 per person; a little steep but at least it includes parking. Unfortunately... More

I enjoyed this park. It was a little hard to find based on Google Maps GPS feature, but was able to finally arrive. Be prepared to pay $5 (I think( for parking). When I go back, I would like to take a bike and ride rather than walk so I could see more of the park. Also, it would be... More

This family friendly park is a great way for travelers of all ages to spend an hour or an afternoon. There's a long, winding walking path wide enough for bicycles, joggers and strollers. There's a place to rent bikes (tandem bikes, tricycles, and more) for an hour or longer. There are plenty of large grassy spots for groups, families or... More

You really can't tell you're in a downtown area because the park is so quiet and lovely. We walked about 10 miles in total, from the parking lot to the bridge, promenade, trails etc. This is a beautifully maintained park AND it's right in the city. Parking is reasonable at $5/hr. and teh gift shop is adorable. The lady working... More

We started at the canal downtown and kept walking alongside the river. It is a nice oasis in the midst of the city.

Indianapolis should be very proud we have such a wonderful zoo. Very nice exhibits and it is a great zoo. You must pay admission and also to park. The polar bear that was 30+ years old recently passed away. I remember it from years ago on our all visits. Places to eat on the inside. Worth the visit.

Beautiful water tumbling over rocks. The bridges add to the unique flavor of this park right in the city of Indianapolis.
