Steel Coated Giant

Jul 2020

This giant sculpture is by local sculptor Jason Paterson, as part of the local town regeneration programme. Colloquially known as the Shotts Giant, the sculpture is a giant metal worker pouring molten steel into a container. As giant reminder of the industrial heritage of this former iron and coal village. A shiny steel-coated sculpture and worth a look if you're passing Shotts.

am no sure what was going on, some english guy kept calling him self big jan i think, kept stroking the thing and saying "ill show u how to drip liquid steel" Kept pretending he was on the phone but it kept ringing in his hand??
The statues great however, just dont recommend it at night time or you will hear the word "sirrrrrr" a lot.....
