The Howard County Historical Society's Kokomo campus includes the glorious Seiberling Mansion, the Elliott House, and two adjacent carriage houses. The Seiberling is a massive brick Victorian home built in 1891, during Indiana's gas boom, by industrialist Monroe Seiberling. Through multiple phases of restoration, it has been returned to its former glory and is now home to the county museum. The Elliott House, also a relic of the gas boom era, is maintained as an event facility.

Christmas at the Seiberling during the month of December features a beautifully decorated mansion. Visit our website for information.

They went above and beyond to help me locate information about a historical building downtown. A must visit if you are coming to Kokomo and love history like I do.

I've taken the tour a few times over the years. Mostly recent we stepped back in time for a field trip. The guide, Sandy, is full of knowledge and details. She makes the era when the house was built spring to life through the stories of the original owners to the industrial pioneers that followed his residency. Overall it was... More
