- ellieroadrunner2 contributionsLovely start to my morningMeet a friend and her daughter for tea and light lunch this morning. What LOVELY staff! The tea hit the spot and the poached egg on brown toast was delicious. Made with care too. The last time I was at Jinney Ring was ten years ago when I was acting in touring production of A Midsomer Night's Dream and I didn't have chance to sample the food but now I have, I will definitely recommend meeting friends there again. Didn't take any photos as we had to pop off to my birthday surprise but trust me, you won't be disappointed. We also quickly popped our heads into the Glass Maker's. I was amazed at all the inventive and colourful creations on display. Recommend Jinney as a birthday/special occasion treatVisited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten December 16, 2023
- Añn PDroitwich, United Kingdom118 contributionsDisappointingThis was our favourite meeting place for a catch up. They’ve changed the restaurant and not for the better. The hot buffet has gone and you now order and food is brought to the table. My favourite salmon had very little sauce, couldn’t cut the broccoli and peas dried up. It was almost empty and I’m not surprised, shall be finding a different meeting placeVisited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten May 8, 2024
- Karen howarthBirmingham, United Kingdom9 contributionsStill not very goodTried the restaurant after new chef employed. Better than last time but not good. Teapot with a huge chunk missing from spout sent back. Next one still tiny chip in. This is so unhygenic. Food ok but chips broccoli and gravy cold. Beef potato pie was minced beef ok at least it was hot. Staff ok but not as friendly as they were. It was better when food was served from the counter now it is from the kitchen. Apparently we are not the only dissatisfied customers.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten June 7, 2024
- chris cBurton upon Trent, United Kingdom304 contributionsNo budging from their " rules"Disappointing visit to this restaurant. The staff stick so close.y to their " rules" it is ridiculous. I asked for a panni and was told they couldn't do it before 2pm as it takes to long.On asking how long it takes?8 minutes. I was quite happy to wait I minutes, No they opulent do it as it was a busy time,The restaurant wasn't busy.My friend was quite happy to have o e also Theycouldntdo that as the machine isn't switched on until 2 pm. My second choice would have been jacket potato. However I was definitely not paying £10.00 for a jacket potato, I had the vegetable soup. The bread that accompanied it was lovely. The soup was definitely vegetables that had been put through a blender with no specific taste. My friends who had the ham did enjoy theirs. On the positive, we were sitting in the restaurant along time and not hurried to leave. This would have definitely been because they were not busy.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten June 12, 2024
- Tracey HHalesowen, United Kingdom236 contributionsWonderful! This is such a lovely place to visit, particularly on a warm and sunny day. We wandered round the shops then had lunch. A delicious homemade salmon quiche with chips, salad and coleslaw followed by Biscoff Cheesecake. What's not to like?!Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten July 14, 2024
- Shannon P12 contributions100/10 would recommend, absolutely incredibleIt’s a but delayed but I organised a year 13 leaving prom for students and teachers and the Jinny Ring was the best! Amanda was so helpful throughout the whole organisation process, made sure the rules were clear but still allowed us to have the most perfect evening. The staff on the night were absolutely incredible! The did such a great job at providing food, customer service andvthey ensure the place was clean and decorated perfectly. Sophie and Mikey (I apologise if that’s spelt wrong in any way) were the best staff I could have asked for. They were perfect at dealing with the students; the had the most friendly and welcoming customer service, without remaining unprofessional. They were amazing at dealing with the constant drink demands and I really hope the get credit where it is due. I did ask for their names so that they could get the credit that they deserve. It was thanks to the Jinny Ring and their amazing staff that we all had the most incredible night: a night to see most people again before moving all over the UK for university.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten July 16, 2024
- lukebutler12017Birmingham, United Kingdom3 contributionsMarquee hire for a party and buffetWe recently held a christening party in a marquee on-site at the Jinney Ring. It was a special day in a beautiful setting in the Worcestershire countryside. The event was well very well organised. The staff were attentive. The combined hot and cold buffet was fresh, of very high quality, and more than enough for seconds and thirds. We have to thank the chefs from the restaurant. We were given regular top ups on tea and coffee and were able to make use of an on-site bar. We don’t typically leave reviews but we were impressed and would highly recommend hire for special occasions.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten July 27, 2024

I visited the Jinny Ring with my 90 year old mom her first trip out after lockdown. What a disappointment it was. Although Café is open to serve overpriced baguettes and drinks there is absolutely no where to sit outside. I asked the disinterested staff if there were any chairs available outside but was told only the grass to sit on! I do understand these are difficult times for businesses and patience and understanding is required but why aren’t there any tables and chairs outside? The staff really weren’t interested

Visited today as a single parent with two young children. Left very upset and angry with two bad experiences.
The chocolate shop refused to serve us due to rule of two. I will not let one of my young children to wait outside on there own!!!
The restaurant then after placing my order announced tap water per glass had a cost of 50p!!! This was for my young children. When restaurants are offering struggling families free kids meals this venue won't even give free tap water. I immediately left to spend my money elsewhere.
Extremely angry and would never go back or recommend to families and single parents especially.

O dear, what's happening here? The place has gone Covid mad! We were told that the grounds are now part of the restaurant and you have to register for track and trace if you just want to feed the ducks! You cannot simply enter the gardens without going through the restaurant, all gates directly into the gardens are now locked. It seems to me to be a ploy to generate more income for the restaurant! When we tried to simply go through the restaurant to get into the gardens so our grandson could see the ducks we were chased by an officious women with a clip board. We ignored her, but she got us on the way back!
Furthermore, there are notices everywhere telling you what you can't do! 'Don't sit here, don't climb there, don't eat here' and on and on... This is not a good experience and we won't be returning. I feel sorry for all the independent craftspeople who will be losing custom because of the management's officious and inflexiblity practice in the name of safeguarding. The grounds at Jinny Ring are lovely and the crafts exciting but it's not worth a visit when you are treated like irresponsible citizens.
I know now what will be the management's response - 'it's because of Covid' . But maybe they can tell me how their vast outside space can be considered part of the restaurant?

My friend and I visited for coffee, having checked online first and confirmed that we wouldn’t need to book.
We queued and when finally greeted, the woman explained that there were no tables free and suggested we return in half an hour. She suggested that we look around the shop, of which we had no interest. It was such a simple exchange and yet this woman was exceptionally rude- taking it as as almost a personal insult when we suggested we go somewhere else. “It’s not my fault” and “You should wait, but I can’t promise a table”
I get that 2020 has been a Bee with an itch for the hospitality sector (I work in it) but if you can’t even be polite to customers then you’re in the wrong job!
I’ve not been to the Jinney for years, I’ve been reminded why today. It feels like it’s run by a bunch of old women with nothing else to do. Kill time in the store looking at tat? Nah... get me to a business that values its clientele and offers them a warm welcome.

I am sorry that we were unable to find you a table when you came in, we were busy. We cut off our bookings 12 hours ahead each day to allow us to manage the tables effectively, this is not unusual. We do have a number of tables available for walk ins and they are on a first come first served basis. If we think we can find you a table we often suggest that a walk around the centre may pass the time and they often see quality handcrafted products as well as general gifts that are of interest.
My 'old women' work extremely hard, are not intentionally rude to customers, they have to put up with a lot while trying to keep customers safe. They cannot magic tables from thin air, they just do the best they can to manage.

Booked a table for lunch at 12.30 but after 20 minutes with no one approaching we asked a passing waitress if someone could take our order. Another 10 minutes went by and then a waitress did come to take our order but when it arrived it was wrong despite two other waitresses checking what we’d ordered. We had sat there for 35 minutes in all without so much as a drink. Completely unacceptable.

Very sorry that you suffered slow service for your visit.
We are trying very hard here to deal with all of the requirements in hospitality due to COVID and are having to adapt and change our systems with every new announcement. This last week we had to move to complete waitress service which was new to us - it has taken us a while to iron out the new operational issues and retain staff but I think we have just about got there again now.....until the next set of changes of course!!

If you are going for the mon-wed half price special be prepared for long wait. We waited an hour only to be told that they had run out of quiche. Reordered and because our next order came to less money I was told i could have a dessert. Ordered the cheesecake special really looking forward to the lemon and blueberry
which was advertised on the board, really disappointed when after a further wait when Oreo cheesecake arrived. Didn't say anything but overall too busy and staff probably trying their best.

As regulars we had a very poor experience. Found the staff quite rude and stroppy. Mid meal were bought our bill and asked if we would like to pay or would we like anything else? WHAT??? The atmosphere was awful. It was cold and uninviting. Wish we hadn’t bothered and cut our visit short. I know we’re going through a tough time and as customers we are trying to support these businesses but it was really unwelcoming and a bit “Covid mad” we are all aware of the rules but treated as if we weren’t. You can still trade with the rules and be warm, friendly and welcoming, none of that here today. Left a bad taste I’m afraid. I think you all need to relax a bit. A warm welcome goes a long way. Plenty of other businesses are doing it. There is a degree of complacency here as they are used to being busy all of the time but I feel they may have lost a few due to the overall poor customer experience.

The café is located in one of the collection of farm buildings that make up a craft centre. We very much enjoyed a coffee sitting outside on a mild autumn day with a great view of the grounds and the surrounding countryside. It is worth a visit if you’re passing, the garden outside is the best part. Don’t expect barista style coffee.

A warm welcome and the starters were delicious. Service was good and atmosphere relaxed and upbeat. The cheeseboard at the end was excellent. The puddings were fine but not the cold ones were not generally to the standard (or appearance) of the ones served in the normal restaurant. The amazing banoffee pie and lemon meringue were absent. The cheesecake was a bit gelatinous. Overall, however, it was a nice evening. HOT TIP: choose your hot puddings first - this way a cold one afterwards is welcomely refreshing. If you eat the cold ones first and get a bit full, the thought of a warm, stodgy pud is not so good.

Is there an admission fee to go to the craft centre?
Written April 1, 2019
Hi
No there is not an admission fee. Pay for what you buy in any of the shops or the cafe, and no parking fee either :)
Enjoy

Is there anything for a two year old or is it aimed at adults?
Written March 26, 2019
There isn’t a play area , just a few ducks. Picnics are not allowed, wouldn’t really recommend for a two year old.
