This is a state park in Southern Indiana, close to Madison. It's close to the Ohio River, but not next to it. It was established in 1920, so it has good infrastructure. There's an inn with a restaurant, picnic areas, & trails. The loop drive...More

We were most impressed by the beauty of Clifty Falls park. The steep hills and the rock outcroppings give it a feel unlike much of Indiana. The trails are a bit rugged, but make for excellent hiking. The park is clean and well maintained. The...More

I went on 3 guided hikes. Our guide, Stefan, was terrific. Most of the trails are rugged. Don't expect to see much of the waterfalls in summer. I was lucky to see some. However it is a beautiful park. If you are planning on the...More

This is beautiful park. The views are stunning. There is really something for everyone here: rugged hikes, easy hikes, walks, wide open spaces, playgrounds, campground and an inn with a lovely restaurant.

We visited the state park as a part of a road trip. Getting to the falls was an easy hike. Very beautiful with the typical for Illinois and Indiana scenery.

There are paved roads that you can ride bikes on. The roads are hilly and curvy, so be prepared. You will be sharing the road with vehicles, so be alert. There are no bike only trails.

There is no fishing at this park. The Ohio River is near and there are other lakes in the area, but are outside of the park.
