Nice little lake to kayak. There are no motors allowed. We only saw one other fishing boat while out there.

Nice to have a wilderness setting just like I remembered it when I was a kid visiting with my grandparents scouting out geodes and rocks close to home. Great setting for wilderness hiking.

Yes, I have lived in area for 20 years plus. Been active in outdoors and never been to this gem. Great place, quite and nature at its best. My wife and I hiked the Lake trail and found it better than the Brown County trails....More

Quiet lake, great from kayaking. Please don't go. You won't like it. I want it for myself. Safe and clean facilities. Always great campers.

We enjoyed the spring wildflowers, and the kids loved finding geodes and salamanders in the creek. However, poorly marked trails make this forest an average hiking experience. If you aren't good at reading a map, you may want to skip Yellowwood.

We went to Yellowwood State Forest hoping to hike some wooded trails. Two trails were closed at this time due to logging. It appears that the east side of the "Lake Trail" is on a two-lane road, partly gravel. We never did find the Scarce...More
