Out of towners, we went here just looking to kill time before and event we had to be at, and it was actually a really nice small museum. Lots of interesting artifacts to review and learn about. Well put together and a very nice staff.

This is a good start for a great museum in the future. Cole Porter was born in Peru and Peru was the home for many Circuses during the circus' golden days. So I expected that those two points would be the highlights. The Cole Porter...More

Displays are well organized, many in settings where items were used or for sale. Cole Porter stuff was quite nice. 3 floors of exhibits and elevator available. Staff was very helpful.

The county museum is celebrating its 100th anniversary and has frequently been called the best local museum in the state. Great collection of pioneer artifacts, and several items from Peru's circus heritage. There is also a wonderful Cole Porter display, including his 1950-something Cadillac.
